NSS forms a primary source for conducting activities for social welfare and community orientation. This programme has been conducted in the college since its inception and the students are motivated to actively participate in this extension activity, thus fulfilling their responsibility towards society. A separate room has been provided for NSS unit, and the Programme Officer, appointed from the staff members, organises various events as a part of this programme.The project mainly includes training programmes covering areas like visits to nearby villages, and institutions, social work, environmental awareness, cleaning programmes, AIDS awareness, medical camps, participation in drives and rallies, as well as the conducting different competitions like painting, poster-making, etc, related to social concerns and issues. Seminars, lectures and workshops are organised by invited experts, medical practitioners and other dignitaries.

 

Capable and efficient graduates are considered strong pillars of society. The extension activities of the NSS, the programs of NCC extend necessary benefits to the society and its neighbourhood and the aim of all activities is ‘The major value in life is not what you get. The major value in life is what you become. Blood donation camps are held in the college campus in collaboration with Red-Cross society. Quite often our students donate blood in the nearby hospitals whenever need arises. Visits to orphanage deaf & dumb school are arranged to give a practical knowledge to our students. Reviews of such students are collected and appreciated during the meetings. This is all about going into everyday thinking the Best of the people. The institution is completely devoted to values and discipline. The classes begin with a morning prayer. There is a check on the use of Mobile phone and consumption of tobacco and its products in the college campus. Not only that, programs is organised to thrust the institutions traditions and forge the value orientation. Lectures and exhibitions are arranged on consumer safety, aids awareness, de-addiction etc. Majority of the students come from rural areas which are under the grip of superstitions. Every year the head of the institution arranges a special lecture by an authority to create an awareness amidst students who further help their neighbourhood in getting rid of such disbelief.
